President Obama give his thanks in this emotional speech.

7:41 pm - 11/08/2012
I have a lot of problems with some of his policies (foreign, environmental) but I don't understand how anyone (especially Mitt Romney supporters) actually believes that this man is detached, aloof, and unemotional.

I saw gifs of this on Tumblr. I'm not sure I can handle the full thing.

heartlockedx 9th-Nov-2012 04:13 am (UTC)
i love my president so much
ex_swaggerd 9th-Nov-2012 04:15 am (UTC)
Right? Even if he's not the most amazing president ever (which he kind of is IMO, if not in practice than in principle), he is the most humble and relateable we've had in a very long time. I wish he could stay in office forever.
ex_swaggerd 9th-Nov-2012 04:13 am (UTC)
I had to watch it the first time without the sound to prepare myself for the real thing. It wasn't enough.
lykomancer 9th-Nov-2012 04:15 am (UTC)
I love how they clap, not in response to what he said exactly, but to give him support when he's overwhelmed by emotion. It's so sweet.
ladypolitik 9th-Nov-2012 04:47 am (UTC)
I loved that, too.
ragged_edges 9th-Nov-2012 04:17 am (UTC)

Just add some ugly crying when he started talking about Michelle and that was me during his victory speech on Tuesday. :)

Love that gif. It never gets old.
shortsweetcynic 9th-Nov-2012 04:24 am (UTC)
:'')

He is a truly extraordinary man. I feel more hopeful now than I have in ages.

Thanks for posting this.
natyanayaki 9th-Nov-2012 04:26 am (UTC)
I know! Hopefully he'll be more progressive in his 2nd term, that he won't follow Clinton's footsteps! But, man, that video made me feel warm and fuzzy inside. And made all the posts, calls, debates worth it.
countrygirl_914 9th-Nov-2012 04:26 am (UTC)
SO MANY FEELS, YOU GUYS.

The elephant sized tears that rolled down my cheeks just now watching that.
ballooon 9th-Nov-2012 04:38 am (UTC)
the yemen bombing didn't get me too hopeful, but i want him 2 go a little more progressive this term
natyanayaki 9th-Nov-2012 04:42 am (UTC)
MTE.

Seeing how much he deeply and genuinely cares is so amazing. Made me tear up as well. I don't understand the people who have no respect for him. Even if you don't agree with him, you have to at least respect how much he cares about his country and the people who live there.
mirfainlasui 9th-Nov-2012 05:00 am (UTC)
I bawled when I just watched this because...I'm from England, and for a variety of reasons I flew to Chicago July 1st to try and volunteer for the campaign, and I actually just got back from the State Headquarters down the road from where this one was having final victory/celebration/happiness drinks with other campaign volunteer members and staff that I've encountered. I fly home again on Monday, and it's just been an amazing experience, and I've met so many wonderful people, and feel so accomplished and yeah...this just made me lose even worse than I did Tuesday night at McCormick place.

My big thing is that even if you don't agree with his policies, I don't understand how anybody can try and say he ran for President for any reason other than he genuinely cares for people, and wants to make their lives better and easier.
natyanayaki 9th-Nov-2012 05:07 am (UTC)
Thank YOU for everything you did.
__angelofmusic 9th-Nov-2012 05:03 am (UTC)
Gah, this made me bawl like a baby. I love my President so much.
chimbleysweep 9th-Nov-2012 05:11 am (UTC)
I want him to be our socialist fascist Nazi commie Kenyan Islamic terrorist dictator forever.
natyanayaki 9th-Nov-2012 05:19 am (UTC)
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

I love him, and I feel like I will love him for the rest of my life - is this how people felt about people like Reagan or JFK when they were in presidency? Anyway, I feel like for the rest of my life, I won't ever feel as invigorated or moved by a candidate.

So many feelings.
hammersxstrings 9th-Nov-2012 05:38 am (UTC)
I think so. I loved his little Reagan dig there lol

But yeah. I'm with you. Sometimes I try and remain aloof when I'm around my repub friends, but dammit if I don't love him. I'm happy I donated to the campaign, makes me feel like I helped out with something
hammersxstrings 9th-Nov-2012 05:36 am (UTC)
I was hoping this would be here already. I started crying. And I cringe to think of what Faux will do to this, but I don't care. I don't understand how people can look at this and tell me he doesn't care about this country, and the people in it, and he's not sincere, especially since they're all over the Mittbots jock.

quizzicalsphinx 9th-Nov-2012 02:21 pm (UTC)
I am suffering a bit of a NyQuil hangover and thought you meant BO as in Bo, the First Dog.

CRYING FOREVER at the image of Bo tearing up now.
