Straight people who are against bigotry don't deserve praise, and the term "straight ally" is IMO horrendous; a right's activist's sexual orientation is irrelevant, just as his/her race, ethnicity, creed, sex, gender, height, weight are irrelevant.
If someone feels the need to do this, that's fine, it's just not necessary and it's a shame that society has made it seem as if it's rare to be a just human being.
