Early Tuesday morning it was brought to our attention that
koken23 was not who she was claiming to be, an accusation that was proven to be true within minutes. She quickly released a statement:
"Jules is fictional. She's a character in a novel I've been writing - a younger version of the novel character - and I made this blog to flesh her out, to see if I could get into her head. Along the way, she became a sort of escape for me".
Thus, she was removed from her responsibilities as a moderator for not being real.
There is no gif that can accurately show how hilarious I find this situation.

Parts of this is hilarious, but other parts are also pretty skeevy. Like the fact that, for example, part of her fictitious identity were implications that she had a multiracial child/a POC husband, or was herself a WOC. I personally dont know what her background actually is, but something to chew on as far as how deep that shit got.
She also used pics from other people's Flickr account and presented them as shots of her own family (which, yes, used shots of someone else's multi/bi-racial children). Pics that Im pret-ty were occasionally posted on this comm. So.

I'm an Argentinean/Australian dual citizen (emigrated to Australia with my family as a kid) but technically an expat currently living in England. I'm active in the comm, often at night US time. I'm not what you'd call "conservative", but still probably a bit less dyed-in-the-wool liberal than a lot of people here - I married a soldier, I have a cop in the family, etc etc etc. Call me a pragmatic bitch if a label must be given.

okay, I might understand creating a 'fake' identity (when you've been RPing for years, you have a whole new background, life, etc. for that character) but not telling the truth about it, using other people's pics, getting into other ppl's lives and so on is just so

I... don't even, honestly
She was someone who repeatedly stole/traced my illustrations, so I had her IP address. When she commented and the addresses matched, I was SO HORRIFIED.
