"U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton admitted to hospital with blood clot following concussion".

WASHINGTON — Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton has been admitted to a New York hospital after the discovery of a blood clot stemming from the concussion she sustained earlier this month.
Clinton spokesman Philippe Reines says her doctors discovered the clot during a follow-up exam Sunday. Reines says Clinton is being treated with anti-coagulants.
Clinton was admitted to New York-Presbyterian Hospital so doctors can monitor the medication over the next 48 hours.
Reines says doctors will continue to assess Clinton’s condition, “including other issues associated with her concussion.”

I suppose that might be a common symptom after a concussion but most people aren't monitored closely enough to know. My kid had a pretty bad one and so did a a friend's recently and in neither case was there follow-up.
It states in the article she's being treated with blood thinners.
Stay with us, Madam Secretary! We need you!
I hope she's okay.

i missed the news the first time around - how did she get a concussion in the first place?

Which says she was dehydrated after she had a stomach bug and fainted and got a concussion then. I guess she hit her head when she passed out. :(
SENDING ALL THE GOOD THOUGHTS.
But I also keep thinking of what could have happened if the didn't have top of the line medical care, because people with no insurance or plans that don't cover anything wouldn't necessarily go in for a follow-up after a concussion. That's a pretty good example of how having to worry about out-of-pocket costs kills people.
Also, I'm counting down until the right tries to tie this into their Benghazi conspiracy theories.
Still, totally sending good vibes her way. It can't possibly hurt.
*cries* D:
Granted, he was about 10 years older than Hillary is now, but I still can't help but think of him when I read things like this. :/
The statement came a day after physicians announced Clinton had been hospitalized because of the blood clot. The clot stems from a concussion the secretary suffered earlier in December.
"In the course of a routine follow-up MRI on Sunday, the scan revealed that a right transverse sinus venous thrombosis had formed. This is a clot in the vein that is situated in the space between the brain and the skull behind the right ear. It did not result in a stroke, or neurological damage," Dr. Lisa Bardack and Dr. Gigi El Bayoumi said in a statement.
Clinton is being treated with blood thinners, the doctors said.
"To help dissolve this clot, her medical team began treating the secretary with blood thinners. She will be released once the medication dose has been established," Bardack and Bayoumi's statement said. "In all other aspects of her recovery, the secretary is making excellent progress and we are confident she will make a full recovery. She is in good spirits, engaging with her doctors, her family, and her staff."
Doctors said on Sunday that Clinton is receiving treatment at Presbyterian Hospital in New York.
Clinton suffered a concussion after fainting while she was sick with a stomach virus. When she suffered the concussion, doctors said Clinton would spend her recovery at home as doctors monitored her condition.
It's not the first time Clinton suffered a blood clot. In 1998 doctors discovered a clot behind the then-first lady's knee.
Right wing conspiracy nuts≤ however, will switch over from "SHE"s OBV FAKING IT to avoid talking about Benghazi!!!..." to "SHE'S OBV HIDING A NEUROLOGICAL DISORDER AND IS UNFIT TO Be anything blah blah blah ...!"
