Americans huddled around radios to hear President Franklin D. Roosevelt's fireside chats broadcast across the country. Now, anyone with an internet connection can gather 'round their computer screens to watch a live Google Plus "Fireside Hangout" with Vice President Joe Biden on Thursday at 1:45 p.m. ET.

The topic will be gun violence, an issue at the forefront of Americans' attention, following the tragic school shootings in Newtown, Conn. The conversation, to be moderated by NewsHour correspondent Hari Sreenivasan, is the latest in PBS NewsHour's coverage of the national debate on guns.

Following the shootings in Newtown, Vice President Joe Biden led a gun violence task force with participants from a wide spectrum of gun interests. Now, citizens from around the country can make their voices heard during this Google hangout.
