Hilary Clinton Will Run for President in 2016!

10:56 pm - 02/12/2013
Admittedly I really don't know how credible any of this is, but it sounds impressive enough and I don't care, HILARY IN 2016.

Tsakopoulos told Greek Reporter that the former Secretary of State will run for President in 2016, putting an end to speculation over whether Clinton will make a second bid for President that has been circulating around the internet and international media.

“Hillary will be our next President and she will be a great one,” Tsakopoulos said at a private gala in California this past weekend.

Asked if this was confirmed by Clinton or whether it’s his personal view, he replied, “I talk to her husband, and he confirmed it. She will run.”

Tsakopoulos’ daughter, Eleni Tsakopoulos-Kounalakis, is the U.S. Ambassador to Hungary and was sworn into office by former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on January 7, 2010.

“My daughter will continue serving as an Ambassador for the next three months, and then she will return to the U.S. to help elect Hillary [as] President,” he continued.

Ambassador Eleni Tsakopoulos-Kounalakis has very close ties to the Clintons as well, and she is expected to play a major role in the “Hillary for President 2016″ campaign. In the 2008 primary, Tsakopoulos-Kounalakis raised more than $1 million for Mrs. Clinton.

Hillary Clinton’s office has not responded to Greek Reporter‘s request for comment on the matter.

When asked last week at a global town hall if she was thinking of making another run for the White House, Clinton said, “I am not thinking about anything like that right now,” CNN reported.

A recent Quinnipiac University survey shows the former Secretary of State to be the most popular U.S. politician, with a 61% to 34% favorable to unfavorable rating. She could do well enough to beat out possible Republican opponents Senator Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), Representative Paul Ryan (R-Wisc.), and former Governor Jeb Bush (Fla.). She even surpassed President Obama in popularity. His favorability rating is 51%, while 46% view him unfavorably.

Born in Rizes, Greece, Tsakopoulos came to the U.S. in his teens as a poor immigrant and managed to become one of the largest developers in California. He founded AKT Development, a leading developer in the Sacramento region. His donations to former President Bill Clinton were rewarded with a night in the prestigious Lincoln Bedroom.

Hillary Clinton has been a leading female political figure since taking the title of first lady in 1993. She has also been a Senator as well as the nation’s Chief Diplomat, coming closer to the White House than any other woman. Her record as Secretary of State, despite the controversy over Benghazi, has been a testament to her work ethic and humility.

Even though the next race for the White House is a few years away, there’s already intense speculation over whether Clinton will make a second bid for president and according to Tsakopoulos, her husband – former President Bill Clinton – has confirmed it.

Yeah I'm just not sure she'd win. I would love to have her, obviously, but. I would rather have a diff dem than a GOP.

I would kinda be surprised if a Dem won in 2016. Of course, in 2008 I said that whoever won would probs be a 1 term president. So I've been wrong before!

That all being said, pllllllllssssssssssssssssss let Hillary be my POTUS

For fuck's sake... will the media just stop with their election fever?

Just deal with the lower ratings and then proceed to obsess over candidate Hillary in 2016. And I hope they learned their lesson about coming for Nate Silver...

The noise I just made was not human. I thought it was official for a second. I honestly don't think she will unless there is absolutely no other viable candidate.

The only Republican from the current field who could keep the race close against Hillary is Christie.
bellichka 13th-Feb-2013 07:35 pm (UTC)
I disagree with this. As we saw with Huntsman, anybody who is moderate within the Republican party, or even seen as being friendly with Obama, is not taken seriously and ostracized pretty much right out of the gate. A moderate Republican does not have a chance of winning, because any moderates left within the party have been slowly switching parties and hopping to the Dems since the early 2000s. The only kind of Republican who could possibly win would be a moderate Republican who rejects the Conservative ass-backwardsness of the current Republicans, but nobody has the cojones to do that, since they've all deluded themselves into thinking that they need to appeal to "the base" to win. I think the only one who would have the chutzpah to reject the neocon hijacking of the part is Christie, so I guess I agree with you after all. Hahaha. :P

While I would love to see it, I won't believe anything until it comes directly from her. IIRC she has flat out said she would not run.
gloraelin 13th-Feb-2013 04:51 am (UTC)
Yeah, I thought that too... I know that I have definitely seen a quote saying she won't run, but I can't remember if that was her or "someone" quoting her.

I'd love it if this were true, but eh, I'll wait for something official. I don't think it's going to happen though.

velvetunicorn 13th-Feb-2013 08:44 pm (UTC)
ia. i think she need to take a few years and work behind the scenes, take care of her health and then in 2014-15, I'm sure they'll decide. She must be exhausted.
bitchet 13th-Feb-2013 04:51 am (UTC)
Ever close to my dream - back-to-back two-term Democratic presidents that break the spirit of the GOP.
wumbawoman 13th-Feb-2013 05:12 am (UTC)
That's all I ask for. 2016 better not be a repeat of 2000.
lovedforaday 13th-Feb-2013 04:57 am (UTC)
i'm not trusting anything until Dick Morris weighs in about whether Clinton will run
fishphile 13th-Feb-2013 05:03 am (UTC)

dissident 13th-Feb-2013 04:58 am (UTC)
I'd vote her over a GOP candidate, but make no mistake, Bill is the only progressive Clinton.
