Juan Williams Inspires "Muslims Wearing Things" Tumblr.

Former NPR analyst Juan Williams, among other ignorant people, has an irrational fear of Muslims, and thinks you can identify them based on what they look like. Here I will post pictures of Muslims wearing all sorts of things in an attempt to refute that there is such a thing as "Muslim garb" or a Muslim look.


For example...

Prince Abdullah

Prince Abdullah (now King Abdullah II) of Jordan, wearing a Starfleet uniform in a 1996 episode of Star Trek: Voyager.

This unfortunate Muslim is wearing Ed Hardy. He is called Salman Khan.



AR Rahman

Little known fact: A.R. Rahman, who won Oscars for Best Original Music Score and Best Original Song for ‘Slumdog Millionaire,’ calls Keyboard Cat one of his biggest influences. But Rahman finds wearing all black a bit more classy whilst keyboarding.



Laleh Saddigh

Iranian racecar driver Laleh Seddigh is garbed in her native racing gear.



Specialist Khan

US Army Specialist and Muslim Kareem Rashad Sultan Khan wore camouflage, up until the day he was killed in combat in Iraq, fighting for his country.

I was totally thinking about posting this yesterday.

Only, I was only going to post the two star trek pictures that have been posted (so far), plus the link to the website.

When I first came across this I was actually surprised because I had no idea the King of Jordan was on Star Trek, that's awesome!

God, I remember the story of the last shot. :( The kid who died in battle.

He was the soldier Colin Powell referenced on Meet the Press back in 2008, when he blasted GOP/Tea operatives for spreading the "Obama = Muslim?..." innuendo.

Yes :( It's just heartbreaking... he was so young. Colin Powell remains one of the few people with the integrity to properly call bullshit on the "is Obama a Muslim?" question. I remember that Meet the Press episode where he spent a good five minutes dissecting exactly why the correct answer to the question was "why does it matter if he is?"
