Apparently the whole Religious Right versus same sex-romance-in-Star Wars-video-games dogfight isn't over yet.

Quick rewind: Recently, BioWare, the makers of the massively popular MMO video game Star Wars: The Old Republic, decided that one of your role playing options should be a same sex romance. Diverse, the universe is, hm?

Right on cue, the usual right-wing watchdogs got their midi-chlorians in a bunch and, just like here on Earth, they are trying to eliminate these rebel alliances.
The American Decency Association, Family Research Council, and Florida Family Association all piled on and their cluelessness is at Cowboy Bebop at His Computer levels. The wankiest of all the complainers were the Florida Family Association, who made the image of Darth Ru-Paul illustrating this entry, and alleged that gay activists were behind the request instead of the game's customers.

It's even more hilarious when you consider that a) All romantic content is incredibly tame (-gasp- Hugging AND kissing? SUCH DEBAUCHERY.) and b) The only way you can get into a relationship is by initiating it yourself.

I didn't get to that part of the Sith Warrior storyline. I think the furthest I had gotten was off Dromund Kaas. And I like Vette.

Yeah, while a lot of players seem to enjoy being sadistic to her, I found it really hard to be an asshole and took the collar off her.

Though, I find it hard to be a dick in computer-games in general. I always play the nice guy.
