I was contemplating reinstalling L4D2 the other week, but it's such a god awful game to play solo. Can't freaking get anywhere. :( How does L4D compare?
Honestly, I think playing solo is what makes the games sort of meh, mostly because you have to rely on the AI for help and generally there isn't much common sense there.
It's WAY better playing with friends because at least you've got somebody there freaking out with you, especially when that damn witch starts her crying.
I haven't played L4D2, but I've heard some good things.
I actually prefer the first L4D, but more because I like the characters better. ♥ my Francis. LOL. Not sure what difficulty you have it at, but I typically keep it on Normal difficulty because I play with having fun in mind, not for a big challenge. For both games a Normal campaign mission takes me about 45 min. Advanced takes a bit longer.
Honestly, I have a much harder time getting through the game when playing with people, even if they're decent team players. Even on Normal, the difficulty really seems to ramp up.
I think when I was playing it, I kept it on whatever was the lowest difficulty as well. I only spent around 45 minutes on the game though, so maybe I hadn't quite conquered the learning curve.
Idk, I'm re-installing it right now because I got a little ~inspired~ and I feel like shooting stuff up!
My L4D group played solo a lot on the original game when we weren't playing together, but none of us could play L4D2 on our own. It's SO fun in a group, though.
Since the original is so cheap now, I'd recommend getting it for solo playing.
Idk, I have several games that are co-op based that I don't ever play because it's just not feasible to play them alone. I really like Killing Floor too, but solo play really sucks. Or maybe I just suck. :(

LET'S PLAY GAMEZZZZZ ONTD_P!
My steam page if ya want to hit me up for a game (I have both too). Though I haven't played in a long time.
I haven't played L4D2 since trying to unlock the Christmas/New Year season achievements. I'm just re-installing L4D2 to see how far I can get.

Aw, no, lots of games are just made for co-op.
