Mine is the same as mine, too. x3

I'm not really on very often, and I don't have many multiplayer games, but it never hurts to have friends. :D

(Also, I love your icon. Lottie is the cutest.)

So Neil deGrasse Tyson is speaking at my school this upcoming Thursday. So excited. Will definitely be leaving my class early for that.

I just had a performance review for my quasi-job (which I've been doing for academic credit rather than pay), and I was sort of worried I'd be fired (because of a project I did that goes against what I thought was basically our workplace gospel; I was like "fuck it, I'm not getting paid anyway, I am going to stand up for my principles!"), but it turned out I was a) not fired, b) praised specifically on the Project of Heresy, and c) offered a paying position.

On the downside, I foresee an imminent plunge in my GPA because LOL THIS 20-PAGE PROJECT IS DESTINED FOR INCOMPLETION (is that even a word?), but I guess you win some you lose some.

They are super douchey about it sometimes.

Are you in the same state as your transfer credits? Are you at a public or private university?

Was the first day my husband had off!

My stupid nail polish turned my stupid nails blue!

Anyone know how to fix this or am I in dark polishes until it grows out?
beuk 4th-May-2012 01:43 am (UTC)
I think lemon juice works. Soak 'em for a while. If that doesn't work, you can probably google up a solution.

My mom and I are moving in two weeks. I've been freaking a bit as the last time I moved I was 9, so I have no idea what goes into it and my mom has been sick so it's up to me to do almost everything. I keep meaning to start packing, but I just walk into a room and my brain just short circuits.

perthro 4th-May-2012 04:33 am (UTC)
Okay. First. Get boxes. They're usually free by the pile on CL, or call around to shoe stores, liquor stores, etc. Newspapers, too, as cheap as you can get them. Get garbage bags and markers. And tape... the packing kind.

Walk into room. One room at a time. Breathe. Don't overanalyze. Just do a little bit at a time. Just start somewhere. The easiest way for me:

Take out all the laundry you will not wear in the next three days. Pretend you are packing for a week's vacation. ONLY LEAVE OUT STUFF YOU CAN FIT IN A SUITCASE. This is what you are wearing until you move.

Put all of the rest of your clean clothes and bedding into garbage bags. Tie them shut. You might wish to get labels or something, the sticky kind (like Priority Mail labels) to identify them as YOUR clothes/bedding. Do this for each individual's clothes, bedding, towels, etc. You can set aside small towels or washcloths for wrapping fragile objects too, if you can't afford newspaper. Big stuff can be wrapped in towels if necessary.

Then pack all your books/papers into the smaller boxes if possible. Make sure you can lift each one. Label the boxes after closing them. Name, Contents (if you have more than one box, put the subject or group label on them, ie fiction, non-fiction). Tape it shut.

Do this with everything you own. It doesn't have to be perfect. Don't get obsessed with organizing the boxes. Just pack. Clear one wall at a time. Do this for the whole house. Remember to put a few sheets of paper between all glass dishes, and cushion them in between. This keeps them from scratching and helps prevent breakage. Remember to mark fragile things and to put them on top of other boxes when moving.

That's it. That's all. Just remember to check every single cabinet and crevice for stuff so you don't leave anything behind. <3 Even your yard, if there are any special plants you want to transplant. And breathe. You'll be fine.

Been watching the BBC live election coverage and refreshing Twitter for the last 4 hours. I'm knackered!

I would go to bed but I have an essay that I really should hand in tommorow. (it's a day late) The question is really hard so it will be terrible but I really need an acceptable word count even if I don't meet 2500.

I want to cry on a pillow right now. Got the record for most consecutive playoff losses tonight and all because of an injury bug late in the season/playoffs two years in a row. NYC is mourning tonight.

This on top that Mariano Rivera got hurt today. Crossing fingers it isn't serious because this is supposed to be his swan song year.

These last couple of weeks blew for NYC sports fans.

Also, my mother wants a Pandora Charm for Mom's Day and H. O. L. Y. S. H. I. T. The one she wants is $75 bucks, which isn't a lot considering that I usually spend that much anyway but it's one little charm. And they have charms, not a charm bracelet but one charm up to $700 bucks and shit.

And I am sorely treated to buy a book on African textiles. It's $30 bucks. AAAAAH. I NEED A JOB. FUCK IT, I'M IN THE DUMPS RIGHT NOW.
kahluaandcream 4th-May-2012 02:51 am (UTC)
"These last couple of weeks blew for NYC sports fans."

But what about the #1 seed New York Rangers? Who just won a stunner in overtime last night? My dad has been talking about them nonstop so I thought they were a thing.

Sorry about Rivera. I'm a Sox fan but you've gotta respect the man's incredible, incredible talent. He deserves to end his career on a high note so I hope he recovers quickly.

I just met Alison Bechdel! Well, for like, a minute when she signed my copy of Are You My Mother?, but I made her chuckle, so POINTS!

She did a reading of AYMM, her new book, at the Free Library of Philadelphia. STARS IN MY EYES.

Awesome! We studied Fun Home in my History of the Book class, so I am excited to pick up her followup.

Anyway, _p, right now I am having an agrument with someone on FS who sees no problem with the casting of Benedict 'I'm so white it hurts' Cumberbatch as Khan Noonien Singh, who, as you can probably tell from the name is...not so white. Indian, in fact.

How on earth can you think it's perfectly okay and totally not racist to cast a white guy to play an Indian man?? Does not compute
spiffynamehere 4th-May-2012 04:00 am (UTC)
...oh gods, that's who he's playing?

What is this.

Just found out I'm gonna be housesitting in Houston in a couple months, and it's going to be super awkward. I'll be alone in a house with my grandmother, whom I love but isn't aware or does know and is deep in denial about my sexuality. The big thing for me, though, is that I'll be away from all my friends, and I'm sure I'll go stir-crazy if I just stay at home. I'm just horrible at being social when I'm by myself, but I suppose this'll be a good experiment if I end up living away from people I know in the next year or so.

Anyone from around Houston that could suggest things to do? The queerer, the better.
dumpweeds 4th-May-2012 03:08 am (UTC)
I... kinda have a fuckbuddy? but we're not fucking (yet) lol just making out furiously and grinding and he's trying to me to agree to let him go down on me but I am a virgin and he was my first ~make out session~ and I haven't gotten that far yet

it's kinda cool though because I know he just wants to get laid and I'm not super attracted to him (it's like 100% sexual lol) so this could work! I think!
spiffynamehere 4th-May-2012 04:01 am (UTC)

Got promoted to assistant manager at my store, officially as of Monday, and so far my week has gone awesomely. Working full time is kind of amazing. It's WEIRD for me, but it's awesome.

I just found out that apparently I don't need Western Civ to complete my associate's, that was just a holdover from when I was a Gen major.

Aw yeah?

A bit early for Friday, eh? But whatever, cuz I'm here!

Crisis sequences initiated this week: 5
Crises aborted: 2
Crises solved: 3

This is a pretty good week. :P My friend is out of the hospital, my youngest sister is figuring out that she doesn't owe her abusive fuckwit of a father shit, other friends' dad isn't going to be jailed over an expired tag of all things, and I paid the rent on time (albeit with the help of elderly relatives). SCORE. Now to make my poor husband coffee... since the cat knocked a lamp on his head while he was sleeping. x.x (Remind me we that love them, yeah?)

How was your week?
angry_chick 4th-May-2012 05:24 am (UTC)
I hope all of you enjoy your weekend, because I'm fucking miserable.

I was discharged from the hospital on Tuesday, and I was there since Friday night (4/27). I'm unable to work and do fun shit because of my pneumonia.

So what all did I miss?

April 27th - 29th: Anime Central.
Thursday May 3rd: Meeting my Best Friend's mother and Great Aunt and having a fun day with them.
Friday, May 4th: My town's ballet company performing Coppelia. Had an outfit for that.
Saturday, May 5th: My BFF's graduation, along with several other friends graduating on the same day. She's getting her Masters.
Sunday, May 6th: Good friend is having a birthday party for her son. Can't make this.
Monday, May 7th: Huge Steampunk/Victorian ball going on in this area.
Weekend of the 4th - 6th: Close cousin flying in from Texas. I haven't seen her in about a year.

And due to me taking this long time off, I can't visit my boyfriend this summer, and I have to wait until December.

Due to my sickness, I am on lockdown and considered a high risk. I cannot return back to work until May 16th. I would rather be knocked unconscious and woken up in June or some shit. Maybe it would make everything much more bearable. And of course, I talk to the boyfriend and grandmother and NO ONE FUCKING GETS IT.

Let's see.

Saturday I got a rare lens. I really shouldn't have bought it, but hopefully this summer I can make it pay for itself by starting to sell prints and enter the Puyallup Fair. It's an PCS MC ARSAT 2.8/35mm Shift lens. I love it. I already posted pics of my cats using it. Here's one with one of my rats. http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y79/Coraki/Joh_face.jpg

Seattle had a huge protest/people destroying things on monday.

Today an assinine customer threw a tantrum and swearing at me. Policy didn't allow us to take checks that didn't have printed name and address on them. So I walked away (while he was still swearing) and got my manager. She told him to leave and go to another station (we are the most relaxed station in Western WA). Good luck with his tantrums elsewhere. I was upset at first (I really need to learn to toughen my skin), but I'm really too nice and with all the other shit going on it's difficult not too.

I'm really excited to get back into photography. I think this is what I really needed. It had been my passion for so long...then just died with trying to survive outside of college. Once I get a few good images, I'll see about getting a smug mug account again. I'll primarily be focusing on landscape shots.
