Awesome! I hope your amazing streak continues. Maybe you'll get super awesome tax refunds?

I just want to take this time to reply that I also had sex with a hot-ass 6'4" dude and he loves cuddles and massages and cooking.

This post is basically to tell people:

and I am okay with that.

done with sculpting, now to painting!

Next week, painting!

I also am working on a pair of feet with teeth, using up a leftover set of feet I had lying in my parts box. Like chattering teeth toys gone horribly wrong.

Once I'm more settled into my new place I want to adopt another cat (I've really been missing that companionship since I lost my cat this year). There are several good no-kill shelters here, but several of the cats I've seen online that fit what I'm looking for are front declawed. Obviously this is something I would never choose to do to a cat, but I hesitate to pass one up for adoption, as it's not the kitty's fault.

Does anyone have experience with front declawed cats? I've heard some people say that litter boxes can be a challenge for them. Any special tips?

On a fannish note, only two eps of Once Upon a Time left! I'm so excited, NEGL.

My old cat (who's still at my parents, I didn't think it'd be fair to move him across the country at an old age). He use to be able to climb trees without front claws. Son't know how he did it, but he did. He didn't seem to have an issue with the litter box. However, my bf's siamese (who has claws) doesn't seem understand how to cover her poop and just shreds the bag liner.

I turned in my last two take home finals. Ever. (Unless I decide to go to grad school after a year off. Which is possible.)

The law paper was on the affordable health care act, and I think I hit most of the key points she wanted us to get. (I did leave out the mess with the anti-injunction act, though, because I was confused and it was 5.30 in the morning, and I had to finish my other final too.) I may have gotten a bit snarky at times, but I think I managed some distance.

Shakespeare I hope went well- I didn't use much in the way of quotes, but I did bring up various bits and peices.

I graduate in less than a week. Panic attacks are going to be coming back now that I don't have workworkwork, aren't they?
clevermanka 5th-May-2012 03:07 am (UTC)
Congratulations!

JUST SAY NO to panic attacks. =b

I need to find out if Spanish 101 will count towards my six language credits because after tonight I don't really want to take another course with the French professor.

I had a bit of a meltdown today. I have Trichotillomania. It's been severely aggravated by stress and anxiety because I'm moving the end of July to California without a job lined up or a place to live.

I went in to get my hair cut today to where I can't grab it and pull it out. By the time my stylist (she knows I have Trich and she does a wonderful job helping me) and I found a length that worked, I saw how much damage I had done. It's pretty bad. I'm lacking a lot of hair at the crown and along the top of my head.

I would've shaved off all of my hair today, but my sister graduates tomorrow and I didn't want to cause a huge commotion on her day.

It's stupid that I'm so upset about it when I've done this much damage in the past, but, with all the stress and anxiety right now, it all came to a head today.

On a happier note, I have a new bike and now that it's nice outside, I'm riding it all the time. <3

I'm sorry. I hope your stress and anxiety are alleviated somewhat once you move. And I hope you find a place/job soon.

Went to a panel on Serious Games at the Smithsonian American Art Museum today. Met some badass, badass people. Got cards from them - actual cards! Too tired to follow up, I need to remember to do that tomorrow.

AND James Paul Gee signed my book! All in all an awesome day! BUT I have a final tomorrow (dick move Georgetown Registrar) so... sleep now.

I got to meet carmy_w at the Unite Against the War on Women march/rally on April 28! Here we are, looking sassy after the march from the Brown vs. Topeka BOE musuem to the capitol building:

kahluaandcream WHATCHA WRITING, _P?5th-May-2012 02:51 am (UTC)
Im almost finished witht he first draft of my vampire short story. Ironically I'm writing the first scene last, hahaha. Then I need to logically connect the scenes I've written...should be fun.

Also working on a massive project on the Art of Video Games exhibit here in DC. I'm questioning how putting video games in an art museum affects their public perception and also how the methods of this particular exhibition help or hurt this perception (the games that feature were voted on, if you weren't aware). I met the curator today and he gave me his e-mail (not a card but YEAH!) so I'm pumped to get started.

A friend of mine posted this whole long comment on fb and I don't even know how to react.

"I don't believe in telling anyone they're wrong for being Black or Hispanic or Asian or gay or a woman.

So why is it okay for people to tell me I'm wrong because I'm a straight white man?"

He goes on to at least acknowledge his privilege, but then goes into this whole spiel about how just because he's not protesting and such doesn't mean he doesn't have an interest in equality. He continues with how people wanting him to feel bad about not feeling bad about being white are just as bad "as the system they want to overthrow". He then ends the comment with "Fuck white guilt."

Edited a billion times because I've apparently lost all ability to comment properly.

::shakes head:: Just breathe. Sometimes there's nothing you can do about the stupid but walk away.

I just had to point out to someone how hipsters wearing those godawful headdresses (the feather ones) isn't about white people being guilty. It's about privileges we enjoy because our ancestors committed genocide and even today silently oppress and make invisible the remaining tribes. It's been a looooong talk which somehow always ends up with a derailment bingo.

So do yourself a favour. Get some mochi. Like strawberry or peanut butter, or my current fave, mango ice cream. Or get some sweet thing you love as a comfy food. And every time you get a bingo, eat the 'pieces'. Once you get your first bingo, that's when it's time to reevaluate why you talk to that person.

I'm finding myself doing that a lot lately. Not sure how to feel about it.

The Avengers was awesome. My first big super hero movie (I've never seen Iron Man or Captain America) and it was wonderful.

UGH. I am probably going to have to end up taking a placement test to prove to a community college that after a year and a half of actual college courses that I can read and write. BLERGH.
