After Gloating, Bryan Fischer Criticizes Romney for Capitulating to Bryan Fischer.

9:55 am - 05/05/2012
Bryan Fischer Is Just Helping Romney for The Real Thing. Ain't Frenemies Great?

Bryan Fischer: How Is Romney ‘Going To Stand Up To North Korea If He Can Be Pushed Around By A Yokel Like Me?’

American Family Association spokesman Bryan Fischer led the right-wing charge against Mitt Romney’s ousted foreign policy spokesman Ric Grennell, lambasting the presumed GOP nominee for hiring the openly-gay aide. When Grennell resigned under pressure from social conservatives this week, Fischer declared it a “huge win.”

But today, Fischer himself backtracked a bit. On his radio, the far-right activist noted what many liberals have, asking, why should voters trust Romney to confront Russia or North Korea if he can’t even stand up to a “yokel” talk show host? Right Wing Watch flagged the clip:

FISCHER: If Mitt Romney can be pushed around, intimidated, coerced, co-opted by a conservative radio talk show host in Middle America, then how is he going to stand up to the Chinese? How is he going to stand up to Putin? How is he going to stand up to North Korea if he can be pushed around by a yokel like me? I don’t think Romney is realizing the doubts that this begins to raise about his leadership.

Watch it:

Ultimate troll is trolling.
evilgmbethy 5th-May-2012 07:25 pm (UTC)
lol this has me hoping that we have a long election year ahead of conservative wackjobs trolling their own candidate
romp 5th-May-2012 06:32 pm (UTC)
uh, thanks Bryan
seasight 5th-May-2012 06:53 pm (UTC)
Oh my god, his eyes.

____jonas 6th-May-2012 01:28 pm (UTC)
At first I thought this was a compliment and I was like

sparkindarkness 5th-May-2012 07:25 pm (UTC)
Wowe... i almost agree with Bryan Fischer - caving to this troll was pathetic

Oh dear gods, i feel unclean now.
cyranothe2nd 7th-May-2012 04:32 am (UTC)
But Romney didn't. Grennell resigned on his own (apparently...not discounting that he could have been asked to resign, but more likely he was tired of this shit and trying to support his candidate.)
sparkindarkness 7th-May-2012 10:09 am (UTC)
I severely doubt there wasn't a lot of behind the scenes pressure - and it's not like Mittens went to bat for him or anything
world_dancer 7th-May-2012 01:36 pm (UTC)
Aside from the fact that I think this is doubtful, I have not seen anything indicating Romney fought for him before the resignation. Though maybe I just missed those stories.
floweranza 5th-May-2012 07:30 pm (UTC)
Welp, at least we can always count on Republicans ruining each other.
leviicorpus 5th-May-2012 07:44 pm (UTC)
lmao

LMAO. While this guy is a POS, a broken clock can be right twice a day.

Also, an OT rant. Today at my school is Mifflin, where basically 99% of college students go and get royally wasted. And, since it's Cinco de Mayo, everyone's calling it Cinco de Mifflin and being disrespectful about it by dressing up as Mexicans or having pictures of the eagle on Mexico's flag drinking from a beer bong. It really annoys me that people can't see why stuff like that is wrong.

What is Mifflin?
doverz 5th-May-2012 08:23 pm (UTC)
It's a street in Madison, WI where the majority of students on campus go to drink the last week before exams start. Full of underage drinking, arrests, sexual assaults, etc. There were even two stabbings last year.

I do my best to stay away from it.

oh, okay. I went to grad school at a big ten school, i get it.
hauntermooneyes 5th-May-2012 09:05 pm (UTC)
And when Lori Berquam said "knock it the fuck off," the whole campus thumbed their noses. Not proud, Madison.
cyranothe2nd 7th-May-2012 04:33 am (UTC)
Yeah, same thing happened at my school. SO GLAD I left town on the 5th instead of attending graduation!

Why is the right so fucking obsessed with Russia lately?

Am I missing something?
schmutzigs 5th-May-2012 08:53 pm (UTC)
well, the relation between russia and the usa got a little more tense when russia asked the us and nato to confirm that the shield that will be placed in poland is not against russia. both the us and nato said that they didn't want to confirm that although they say it's to reach the middle east more easily. russia percieves this as a direct threat. the highest russian military guy said that when placed without russia's permission, a preventive attack might happen.

sory for my horrible english, it's not my first language. i do hope i made things clear.
adinasauce 5th-May-2012 08:57 pm (UTC)
Aha, okay, I remember reading about that now, thank you. It still seems like the rhetoric coming from the right is WAY over the top, though.
beoweasel 6th-May-2012 01:07 am (UTC)
What do you mean lately? The Right has -always- been obsessed with Russia, because they're still clinging to Cold War mentality and hatred of communists.
adinasauce 6th-May-2012 01:19 am (UTC)
Wow you're so right, the level of rhetoric about Russia has been exactly the same for the past 30 years!

When Morons Collide... wasn't there an old sci-fi book with a title like that?
poetic_pixie_13 5th-May-2012 11:05 pm (UTC)
Negl, I can't wait for the election shit show to get into full swing.
celtic_thistle 5th-May-2012 11:43 pm (UTC)
Right there with you.
erunamiryene 6th-May-2012 01:26 am (UTC)
Nope, I STILL don't agree with Bryan Fischer, because "yokel" just does not describe this asshat.
baked_goldfish 6th-May-2012 04:26 am (UTC)
As much as I'm Team Nobody here, I am really looking forward to Romney being both the nominee and the GOP punching bag for the next little while. It was nice enough with him being their punching bag while he was trying to become the nominee - but now he's their guy, they're stuck with him, and I really hope that the amount of hate his own party will be throwing his way will be glorious and unending.

Just don't win in November.
corinn 6th-May-2012 07:44 am (UTC)
Wait, how did Romney capitulate? Grennell resigned. Did Romney ask him to resign and I just didn't hear that part?
thepikey 7th-May-2012 02:42 am (UTC)
The argument being that if Romney had a spine he'd show some loyalty and stand up for the guy working for his campaign. He could have said, "Hey look, this Grennell cat is the best man for the job, you need to stfu." But instead he threw the guy under the bus.
corinn 7th-May-2012 07:34 am (UTC)
So similar to lying by omission, acting by inaction? I guess I can see it. "Well I never said I didn't want the gay guy around. I just didn't say I really wanted him around."
