JEFFERSON CITY — In a locked chamber guarded by Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers, House Speaker Steve Tilley today inducted right-wing radio commentator Rush Limbaugh into the Hall of Famous Missourians in an invitation-only ceremony that excluded Democrats.
The ceremony, a departure from the open, welcoming events held for every other induction, excluded Democrats because most had signed a letter denouncing Limbaugh's inclusion in the hall, Tilley said afterward.
The controversial 61-year-old radio host was born in Cape Girardeau to a family that has included the state's oldest working attorney and a Missouri Supreme Court judge. In his remarks before introducing Limbaugh, Tilley called Limbaugh “the very definition of a famous Missourian.”
When Limbaugh's inclusion in the Hall of Famous Missourians was revealed earlier this year, he was embroiled in a controversy over sexual insults directed at a Georgetown University law student. A national furor erupted but Tilley did not back away.
“I cannot be bullied by people who want me to reverse my course,” he said to the chamber filled with GOP lawmakers and staff.

Disgusting.
At least there's a possibility the bust won't be displayed. Still shame on the Missouri Republicans for wasting tax payers' time and money on a state trooper detail to "protect" Rusty and giving him the floor to speak his filth.
And here's hoping it's something like muriatic acid. That way, they have to get it fixed.

This is why we have to make sure that no matter how far he goes we can't let him get any legitimate media attention. At all. no matter what vile crap he spews. He isn't going to go anywhere, he isn't going to get pushed out,he will always be able to find someone willing to pay for a spot on his show. People will still want to give him awards.
The only way to make him go away is to ignore the bastard.
Both Buck O'Neil and Dred Scott have to be turning in their graves .
Apparently they were expecting some kind of bum's rush on the bust by rainbow-clad hippy types who would granola-and-glitter bomb? I am just...revolted.
Countdown to the first time his bust is defaced starts.....now.
famous Missourianenormous asshole.”There, I fixed that for you.
Oh fuck you, you self-righteous fucking waste of oxygen.
