The way he said it, for me, was more about how gender is understood in geeky communities. People rag on women and trans folks for different reasons but it comes back to mainstream ideas about gender and how it works which are all bad and we need to address.

Well, people rag on cis women and trans women for very similar reasons, and then rag on trans women in other ways, and rag on other trans people in different ways.
