1988, Ryan was voted prom king and "Biggest Brown-Noser" by his fellow classmates.

O.o

Priceless!
furrygreen 11th-Aug-2012 01:46 pm (UTC)
Why does he have a VP account already?

Voted YES on prohibiting job discrimination based on sexual orientation. (Nov 2007) Rep. Ryan said he supported the bill because he has friends “who didn’t choose to be gay … they were just created that way.”

How can he say "didn't choose to be gay" as if he's "accepting" of gays when he voted no to every other gay related issue? I mean, Ryan doesn't want jobs to discriminate based on sexual orientation, but he doesn't care if their killed and he opposes gay marriage and adoption?
k0liverbby 11th-Aug-2012 02:09 pm (UTC)
they're doing the 'separate but equal talk'

we're gonna not discriminate against you in jobs etc, because that'd look downright horrible. BUT WE WILL discriminate against you and say you're unfit to get married and have kids
serendipity_15 11th-Aug-2012 01:46 pm (UTC)
I hate all their talk about "taking this country back" it's such coded racist language.
rainbow_fish 11th-Aug-2012 01:48 pm (UTC)
Gurl, it's not even coded that well.
wonderpup 11th-Aug-2012 01:50 pm (UTC)
Saw some tweets calling Ryan Rafalca and now it shall be his nickname for all the things.
loveloy 11th-Aug-2012 01:53 pm (UTC)
That is AMAZING
wonderpup 11th-Aug-2012 01:52 pm (UTC)
LOL that person holding up an iPad to take a photo
loveloy 11th-Aug-2012 01:54 pm (UTC)
It's the same at the Olympics. Try to watch the audience. Looks so damn stupid

Voted YES on Constitutionally defining marriage as one-man-one-woman. (Jul 2006)

OKAY THEN

Yet another reason to be ashamed of my home state.
shellazure 11th-Aug-2012 02:08 pm (UTC)
Just looked at his page at ontheissues.org and alll the way at the bottom it says, "Paul Ryan is a Hard Core Conservative." I knew that, but looking through his voting record is just.... ugh. Ugh.
miss_world13 11th-Aug-2012 02:09 pm (UTC)
How incredibly boring
k0liverbby 11th-Aug-2012 02:10 pm (UTC)
mhm, i see you twitter, secretly ran by conservatives. Or romney is paying for those trending topics
beoweasel 11th-Aug-2012 02:17 pm (UTC)
Anyone find it hilarious that conservatives have been attacking Obama for never having a 'real job', but at the same time, they're ecstatic for Paul Ryan, a guy whose never had a real job?
baked_goldfish 11th-Aug-2012 07:37 pm (UTC)
But he's white.
kynical 11th-Aug-2012 02:36 pm (UTC)
This was a move to placate the "base" (conservative\tea-party folks). There is still a massive lack of enthusiasm for Romney in the conservative base. Ryan will help energize said base.
one_hoopy_frood 11th-Aug-2012 03:02 pm (UTC)
Oh god when I saw his smug-ass face just now I actually said "FUUUCK" out loud. Should have known after his fucking terrible budget plan.
stormqueen280 11th-Aug-2012 03:06 pm (UTC)
He reminds me of Sarkozy. Which certainly doesn't help him.
keeperofthekeys 11th-Aug-2012 03:10 pm (UTC)
All my nightmares.

Now I'm going to be seeing his smug face fucking everywhere. I hate you even more than I did yesterday, Mitt.

Oh good, they are calling themselves "America's Comeback Team" on their website. I am sure that has no racist connotations whatsoever.
wyntur_snow 11th-Aug-2012 04:42 pm (UTC)
When A friend of mine was watching he commented "To be honest 'America's Comeback Team' sounds like a porno."

~They're coming all over America!~

I enjoy how much use you're getting out of the condescending Wonka icon. XD
elobelia 11th-Aug-2012 04:25 pm (UTC)
Oh, whatever. I can't even be pissed. I would be more worried if he had chosen a moderate Republican. I feel like he's just shot himself in the foot.
leftbase 11th-Aug-2012 05:03 pm (UTC)
I feel the same way. If anything, this pick might drive away a few moderate voters, but I don't see how it'll attract any new ones. That's perfectly okay with me.
tabaqui 11th-Aug-2012 04:28 pm (UTC)
Horrifying and actually rather sick-making. He's no plum, that's for sure.

Ew. They're so fake.

Paul Ryan?

Really, Mitt?

Really?
atomic_joe2 11th-Aug-2012 04:41 pm (UTC)
I find US politics fascinating. Everything seems to happen so quickly in election year! Cameron was Leader of the Opposition in the UK for five years before becoming PM so we sorta get to know them usually over a long space of time. The UK got to know Cameron and he still couldn't get a majority!

Then of course there is the rapidity that we get one PM out and the other in, usually within a couple of days of a definitive election result. We like to run 'em into the ground from the earliest possible time, heh heh.

executivehpfan 11th-Aug-2012 05:20 pm (UTC)
It always interests me to hear from non-Americans on our politics. Mostly because so much about our politics embarrasses the fuck out of me. -facepalm-

I can't imagine a couple of days doing an administration hand-over, though. lol Two months it takes for us seems quick. Although, I like this whole running-them-into-the-ground as quick as possible thing. :D
