Kim Jong Un Orders Nuclear Weapons Readied

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un ordered his country to be ready to use its nuclear weapons at any time and the military to be in "pre-emptive attack" mode in the face of growing threats from its enemies, state media said on Friday.

The comments, carried by the North's official KCNA news agency, marked a further escalation of tension on the Korean peninsula after the U.N. Security Council imposed harsh new sanctions on the isolated state for its nuclear programme.

North Korea, known for belligerent rhetoric, has previously threatened pre-emptive attacks on its enemies, including South Korea and the United States. Military experts doubt it has yet developed the capability to fire a long-range missile with a miniaturised warhead to deliver a nuclear weapon as far as the United States.

Kim made the comments as he supervised military exercises involving newly developed rocket launchers, KCNA reported. It did not mention the date of the drills but said the new weapons had South Korea within range.

South Korea's defence ministry said on Thursday the North launched several projectiles off its coast into the sea, up to 150 km (90 miles) away, an apparent response to the U.N. sanctions.

Even if no weapons are fired, I bet this shows up in the Presidential candidate infighting.

West Virginia Mistakes Itself for the Wild West, Fails History Forever

West Virginia Overrides Governor’s Veto To Pass Radical NRA-Backed Gun Law

by Samantha Page

Gun owners in West Virginia will no longer need to get a permit to have a concealed weapon, putting it among the most far-reaching states for gun rights. The House voted on the measure Friday and officially overrode a gubernatorial veto on Saturday.

The law, which does away with the permit and training program for people 21 and older who want to carry a concealed weapon, was supported by the National Rifle Association, but opposed by law enforcement across the state.

“West Virginia’s law enforcement officers have dedicated their lives to keeping us safe and helping us in times of need, and it’s disheartening that the members of the Legislature have chosen not to stand with these brave men and women – putting their safety and the safety of West Virginians at risk,” Democratic Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin said in a statement Saturday.

Allowing just anyone to carry a concealed weapon means that law enforcement officers have no way of knowing whether someone might be armed. It also means there’s no way to know how much training or expertise a gun carrier has with the weapon. The permitting process also included a background check and a gun safety class, both meant to reduce gun violence.

OP: I have relatives in WV which I guess I won't be visiting now. They're not happy with this law, either, so hopefully it'll get stricken at some point soon.

My 'fail history forever' comment is because a lot of so-called wild west towns had stricter gun laws than some modern states, despite what people tend to think. Also it's what I feel like yelling whenever I'm in the state and see all the Confederate flags flying; it's bad enough due to the racism involved, but the fact that they're in West Virginia is an extra sprinkling of stupid on the awfulness.

LIVE POST: Democratic Debate Starts @ 8:00pm EST on CNN

Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders go head-to-head Sunday in a CNN Democratic debate certain to focus on racial barriers and economic fairness but that will above all be defined by the toxic water crisis afflicting its host city, Flint, Michigan.

The former secretary of state and the Vermont senator, who are locked in a monthslong duel for the Democratic nomination, will use the debate starting at 8 p.m. ET to court minority and working-class voters ahead of Michigan's primary on Tuesday.

Their showdown comes a day after Sanders pulled off morale-boosting Super Saturday victories in caucuses in Kansas and Nebraska, doubling up on Clinton, who won one matchup -- the Louisiana primary.

Yet such is the math of the presidential nominating process that Clinton won 57 pledged delegates to the 50 hauled in by Sanders, and so extended her lead in the overall Democratic presidential race.

The rivals also face off Sunday in Democratic caucuses in Maine, where polls will close just as they step onto the debate stage.

Shenanigans Sunday will go up after the debate is over. Everyone please feel free to participate in SS! It's meant to be just like FFAF.

ALSO, Sanders and Cruz won their respective caucuses in Maine!
