John Gibson Compares Eric Holder To Monkey With Bright Blue Scrotum

6:33 pm - 02/19/2009
At the end of a long and pointless conversation between two Fox News reporters covering a zoo escape, John Gibson compared Attorney General Eric Holder to a monkey.

A monkey escaped from the Woodland park Zoo in Seattle and despite the fact that authorities are "taking this very seriously," Julie Banderas and Harris Faulkner were not, cracking jokes about the monkeys' bright blue scrotum.

At 2:48, they toss to John Gibson who complains that he can't get away with saying "bright blue scrotum" on the radio then follows that up by saying, "We were talking about Eric Holder today on the radio and his bright blue scrotum."

Oh, Harris Faulkner. I remember you from when you were at WDAF in Kansas City, and I do not remember you being so full of fail then. What happened? :(

OMG, THAT'S where I've seen her before! Fox 4! Knew she looked familiar.

ladypolitik Wow, it's funny that you say this.20th-Feb-2009 03:10 am (UTC)
Because some of your points came to mind after I was recently linked to this winning gem over at (wait for ittttt...!) conservatism.

In that lj instance, though, this may more be a combined case of cyber-troglodytes (1) living out life-long fantasies of Larry the Cable Guy faux-edginess, and (2) deliberately saying the type of provocative things only while on-line, knowing that it would be repeatedly met with giant black left-hooks to the jaw if uttered IRL. ;)

...Now, what was it that Eric Holder was saying today about cowardice in contemporary U.S. race-relations, again?
molotov_lj 20th-Feb-2009 02:57 am (UTC)
Lol what is it with these News Corp people this week?

Is anyone ever too outrageous for FOX News? I mean, seriously.
sunoftheskye 20th-Feb-2009 03:14 am (UTC)
God, the clips people post here make me SO glad I don't watch cable news channels anymore.
sisterhavana 20th-Feb-2009 04:11 am (UTC)
I thought John Gibson got fired. Apparently not!
celtic_thistle 20th-Feb-2009 04:19 am (UTC)
Gibson and all these other chuckleheads on Faux are just proving Eric Holder right.

whosmurry 20th-Feb-2009 06:22 am (UTC)
I can barely even muster a mere gasp anymore, when it comes to Fox News. I am really not shocked in the least. I wish I were.

When I saw "Woodland Park," I thought this was going to be about the New Jersey town formerly known as West Paterson. See, last year, a bunch of people in the town's McMansion development thought it would make their already obscenely overvalued real estate worth even more if the town didn't bear the name of neighboring Paterson, a faded industrial city where almost everyone there is either Black, Latino or Arab. (It's pretty obvious the McMansionites also wanted to make it clear that their scrotums weren't blue.) So they managed to put this rather pressing issue on the ballot, and it passed by 25 votes.

It should be noted that most of the "woodland" that was in that town has been eradicated by the McMansion development.

You've been punk'd. This a hoax.
mhael Fair enough....20th-Feb-2009 04:18 pm (UTC)
The truly sad part (apart from the fact that someone would take the time to create blatantly untrue content) is how easy it was to believe, given the attitudes and behavior of both FOX News and many, many conservatives.
