White House Denies Accusations of Abu Ghraib "Rape Photos"

Last night this post covered the news, from Britain's Daily Telegraph, about possible Abu Ghraib rape photos, some of which apparently show the rape of a 15 to 18 year old male by a male translator in military clothes, as well as the sodomy of others with different objects including wire.

From "Pentagon attacks Daily Telegraph over report":

"The Telegraph quoted retired U.S. Army Major General Antonio Taguba as saying the pictures showed "torture, abuse, rape and every indecency."

Pentagon spokesman Bryan Whitman said the Telegraph had shown "an inability to get the facts right."

"That news organization has completely mischaracterized the images," he told reporters. "None of the photos in question depict the images that are described in that article."
