Before Twitter went down, there were some calls going around from folks in Iran looking for medical advice for treating wounds and low bandwidth methods of accessing yahoo messenger from a browser. They were also looking for a web 2.0 mashup service that would allow them to attach photos, video, and comments to a map. It would be awesome to have some answers for them when twitter comes back up!

apparently someone else is already working the medical angle on Tumblr http://gr88.tumblr.com/

Twitter is down. I'm scared for them.

I'm glad CNN mentioned the fact that people were pissed about them using usernames. OF course it's a sensitive subject. Aren't people's lives are at stake?
gaviotas 16th-Jun-2009 09:22 pm (UTC)
public outrage = views = $$$

;__;
cookie_nut 16th-Jun-2009 09:13 pm (UTC)
Even though Twitter is down, I refuse to watch CNN's failing selves. I'd rather keep refreshing Huffpo. ._. And forget FOX...

The first and seventh ones are gorgeous.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks these raids were planned to coordinate with the downtime.
fruityphobia 16th-Jun-2009 09:25 pm (UTC)
I honestly thought I was just being paranoid.
The possibility of that being the case terrifies me.
anunseengenius 16th-Jun-2009 09:23 pm (UTC)
I don't know if anyone else has made a facebook group about this, but I created one so we can try to spread the word.

CHEARG!!

omgggwth 16th-Jun-2009 09:27 pm (UTC)
I never thought I would say this, but not having Twitter around to keep up with things is making me hella nervous. I seriously cannot sit still.
lone_concertina 16th-Jun-2009 09:28 pm (UTC)
I'm nervous too. It's already halfway over but I'm terrified to find out what sort of atrocities happened in that half hour.
moldycelery 16th-Jun-2009 09:27 pm (UTC)
I am so tired of the Letterman/Palin feud. It's such a non-story. Let's focus on things that matter, major news stations!
bluetooth16 16th-Jun-2009 09:29 pm (UTC)
I totally agree! They shouldn't be afraid to tell the public what's going on.
