The crowd at the protest in Tehran was apparently about 5 miles long.

Oh good.

I see it's following @IranRiggedElect; maybe someone could DM whoever's looking after @voairan to follow some of the other twitterers who have been coming up with the goods w/r/t witness reports, etc?

I know this is old news, but I'm glad Change_for_Iran is back. I've been gone for the last 4 1/2 hours, though, so I have some major catching up to do. And I'm gonna guess it isn't going to be happy.

Does anyone have good contact info for CNN so we can tell them to stop broadcasting Twitter names?
ex_irelands 16th-Jun-2009 05:42 pm (UTC)
jesus CHRIST CNN is stupid as fuck.
lone_concertina 16th-Jun-2009 05:41 pm (UTC)

I'm so glad Mousavi's website is being spread out on different hosts.

yummymarsbars 16th-Jun-2009 05:43 pm (UTC)
This is what disgusted me yesterday. I went to www.cnn.com to see waht they had to say about Iran. Under their most popular stories, I see this:

1. Something actually relevant

pumpkinwaltz 16th-Jun-2009 05:46 pm (UTC)

Mandy Moore changed her name?
phookie 16th-Jun-2009 05:46 pm (UTC)
I'm going to check the State Government Channel now (IRIB) to see what they're saying...
musikologie 16th-Jun-2009 05:48 pm (UTC)
http://twitter.com/persianview is also tweeting about the situation -- account looks old enough to be legit.
eska_rina 16th-Jun-2009 05:49 pm (UTC)
Holy... we're up on a second post now?! So... what has happened in the last ten hours while I've been away?
yummymarsbars 16th-Jun-2009 05:50 pm (UTC)
Living at home with my family doesn't allow me to watch the news and my hometown doesn't play NPR all day like my previous city I was living in (Wichita, KS).

Really, I don't know the order of events. On CNN, they're reporting that there are two different protests, the pro-Ahmedinejad and the anti-Ahmedinejad.
andora 16th-Jun-2009 05:53 pm (UTC)
You would probably be best to not pay attention to anything CNN says. I get the feeling they're still reporting from official Iran lines, which will inevitably be wrong.
homasse 16th-Jun-2009 05:51 pm (UTC)
Huffpost just updating with a vid of people trying to save the life of a demonstrator who had been shot.

Iran has hit the boiling point.
lindra 16th-Jun-2009 05:55 pm (UTC)
It sounds it. It really, really sounds it.
one_hoopy_frood 16th-Jun-2009 05:55 pm (UTC)
ProtesterHelp Confirmed, police have arrested a few (3 or 4) Basiji in two locations in Tehran. #iranelection

Good sign?
homasse 16th-Jun-2009 05:56 pm (UTC)
And in case anyone missed it, the BBC has changed their layout to be green to show their support for the protesters.
babytooths 16th-Jun-2009 05:59 pm (UTC)
It's actually for their Planet Earth series debuting this week.
phookie 16th-Jun-2009 05:56 pm (UTC)
The iranian govt. broadcast channel is just saying crap about Ahmadenijad's visit to Russia and his talks with Shanghai/Russia. Arrghh.
