There are a few posts on whyweprotest's site that were interesting..
Some Iranians were able to post. I hope they're who they claim they are.

Anyone else following some of the posts?

well I'm still awake, apparently, so why don't I just sidle on over there and check it out? WHY NOT, I ASK?

"sleep" is not a word that exists in my vocabulary, what is this "sleep" of which you speak?

Can't say whether it actually works, but the idea is that if the device is completely off it cannot be tracked.

Slightly OT, but it was mentioned when Alyssa Milano twittered about Iran, so, Misha Collins, in his inimitable, cracked out fashion, has also twittered on the situation (top down):

@ AhmadiNejad asked me to come to Tehran to help stamp out the secular humanist uprising, but my liberators didn't bring money for airfare.

@ And i didn't have the heart to tell my old friend, Ahmadinejad, that he was an evil, fascist (in the bad sense of the word) over the phone.

@ We're in traditional Peruvian garb crawling 2 Iran 2 tell the "president": Friends don't let friends shoot students http://twitpic.com/7lvws

@ And, i know he's stated publicly, "پیغمبرم. پس منتظر پاسخ ملت," but, honestly, i don't think he really means it.

news starting to come in faster this very, very early morning (6AM over here, didn't sleep):

from what it seems like thus far, there are conflicting reports on the and locations of rallies on Mousavi fb page - from Enghelab to Azadi vs. 7tir to Azadi. also rumors saying that nobody will be allowed into Azadi sq. at all...

NextRevolution is back! Daughter & brother beaten with baton, but no more was said about the subject.

Okay, to give everyone a laugh, I did a "CNN fail" search on youtube to see any snips of what CNN might have said about #cnnfail, and came across this video from several months ago. Unrelated to Iran, but HILARIOUS.

ugh, damn time zones. I've been up all night following this but now it's almost 5am and I have to sleep eventually. :(

There's a video up on youtube now of the supposed death of a student in Isfahan. It's extremely, extremely upsetting but not gory.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kfT4xDKQpnM

This is what finally did it. I'm fucking sobbing now. :(
saigonostalker 17th-Jun-2009 11:02 am (UTC)
I saw it earlier today, and even if it makes me a coward, I can't watch it again.
