i'm not really clear on how a partial recount works in comparison to a full recount. help?
evilgmbethy 17th-Jun-2009 05:08 pm (UTC)
I assume it would typically mean you'd only recount votes in some areas...? Like, they'd count certain provinces maybe?

Of course, this whole thing is shady so who knows.
lemonadestraws WARNING: EXTREMELY GRAPHIC17th-Jun-2009 05:08 pm (UTC)
I found this recently on #iranelection, but it's incredibly graphic. It's definitely one of the most nauseating and bloody pictures I've seen so far.

I'm speechless, except for asking what the hell caused that?

Change_for_Iran almost everybody in karoubi's party already arrested & we were unable to contact even his party's regional offices

Change_for_Iran the problem: he's the supreme leader & when he's attending firday's praying, everybody must. if we don't it's a clear act of war

can someone educate me on what they're talking about exactly?
blue_monarch 17th-Jun-2009 05:20 pm (UTC)
Friday's a prayer day, and Khamenei will be the one leading it (as he's still Supreme Ayatollah). The protesters are opposed to Khamenei as well, and want him gone. But they must attend the prayer session, because to do otherwise is pretty much high treason. The question is what to do about it - do you take that enormously divisive step, or do you join in prayer and swallow your disgust?
emmymik 17th-Jun-2009 05:19 pm (UTC)
Change_for_Iran: both karoubi & mousavi still working on a peaceful way, if they attend it gov will say they accept ahmady, if they don't things will get bad

SCMProfessor @freeeafrica Not sure how you can "debate" results. The count is the count. #IranElection

Durrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Also from him:
@JustinKownacki Except in many cultures (specifically Mid-east) public protests are part of the culture. You do it, you go home.

What a winner.

UNLESS YOU DIE, THAT IS.

Fuck you. Are you special because you have "techie" in your name? I hate people on Twitter.

1:19 PM ET -- Good news. The medical student in Iran I referenced below finds his young daughter, who had gone missing in the crowds. The tweets are from over the last hour or so:

are parent you know how hard it is to be away from a injured child

but her life is more important than my life and putting her in dange is not what i want if you
she is very scared now i am sure she hates gunfire and darkness
i just want to hold her again to kiss her forehead ..to be free with her...to see her run free in the park
we students do not chant death to america we want american constitution
