CNN just commented that they're stopping showing names, mentioning that they had gotten a lot of e-mails about the subject

GOD THAT'S SO AWESOME. Watch it come out in a day or so that Hillary called them herself to tell them to stfu.

I've been getting sweetest messages from Iranian bbs from Iran on fb for the links :*) I wish I was there right now so badly, I am scared for them, but I can't wait.

Keep up the good work guys.

I haven't been online since 8:00ish. Did anything major happen awhile I was gone?

C/p of what I said before with a few things added... sorry if I missed anything

It's hard to summarize because it's a lot of smaller things. The protest DID happen this morning. There was a rally for Ahmedinejad, who is now in Russia. The news in Iran is saying all of the protests were for Ahmedinejad. The Ayatollahs keep changing their mind about whether or not election results should be accepted. There was a recount that reaffirmed Ahmedinejad won. There was another attack on a university by the Basij. It appears as though police officers are unarmed. CNN has been broadcasting Twitter names on air, and people are getting tracked down subsequently. The internet finally pwned them.

Does anyone know about international calls to Iran? My dad said he tried calling family for two hours and it didn't work...
lindra 16th-Jun-2009 07:46 pm (UTC)
afaik traffic into Iran is even more limited than what's going out
southern_shrimp 16th-Jun-2009 06:58 pm (UTC)
I'm not sure what this is doing, but they're open!
dayadhvam_triad 16th-Jun-2009 06:55 pm (UTC)
Why's CNN joking about a Twitter conference? Plus, CNN's covering the possibility that Ahmadinejad actually won the election. Did they WANT him to win the election or what?

CNN: "We're bringing you their online reports faster than ever--" Yeah, fuck you too.

I don't swear often, but CNN just enrages me with its lack of proper reporting.
saigonostalker 16th-Jun-2009 06:58 pm (UTC)
CNN is on some sort of massive failboat today, eh?
ceilidh_ann 16th-Jun-2009 06:57 pm (UTC)
What is with CNN and their Twitter obsession? And when it's doing some real good, they still fuck it up? My only real use for CNN is AC360's podcast and even that's just for eye candy. *BBC News fangirl*

Mmm... Anderson Cooper. That's a lovely distraction. His puppy debate during the US elections was freakin' adorable. I wanted to throw him on the floor and do him there.

Total lurker here, but watching this post like a hawk:

You guys are really great for posting this, I doubt I'd have known how immense this was without it.

Pitney over at Huffington Post has been outstanding in his coverage of events. If everyone could tweet about it and contact him via his email about it, it might get a message. If it gets into the media that CNN is jeopardizing the lives of innocent people with their coverage, they may stop it.

God, why must they fail so hard? First they don't cover it at ALL, and then when they do, they manage to put people's lives at risk.
