“It’s about liberty,” said Dr. Pease. “We are losing our liberty in great gulps, and everyone knows it. I am bold enough to say it. We need our best people in the front lines. Those who can articulate our loss and show us how to get back our liberty.”
Dr. Pease will put forward his plan to do what he has been teaching students at Taft College for 25 years, which is to emphasize “the Constitution, limited government, fiscal responsibility, and the benefits of the free market which has enabled us to be the freest, most prosperous people on earth.”
Dr. Pease was the keynote speaker for the Central Valley Tea Party in Tulare, where he addressed 15,000 citizens from all parties regarding the points he is emphasizing in his campaign. He was also the keynote speaker at the Bakersfield Tea Party, where 3500 people gathered to protest excessive taxation and irresponsible spending. Dr. Pease maintains that the Tea Party leadership at the local and state levels have encouraged him to run for office.
Dr. Pease has articulated the Founders’ view to thousands of students. He has consistently been in the trenches where ideas are debated. However, in light of the fiscal crisis our country now faces, and the consistent undermining of the Constitution by our government, he knew it was time to play a more active role in preserving our liberty. Like so many others who are concerned about the future, Dr. Pease states, “I’m in it for our grandchildren. I’m not looking for a career. I already have a nice one. But the dam is breaking and I’ve got to grab a shovel and run to the front. The career politicians have us in such a fix.” He further invites, “Grab your shovels and join me! How much is liberty worth to you?”
Dr. Harold Pease has taught political science to college students in California for 34 years. He has also served as a legislative assistant to the Constitutional Subcommittee of the Judiciary Committee of the U.S. Senate. Dr. Pease was the first political scientist in the nation to receive the prestigious Leavey Award for Excellence in Private Enterprise Education- the Freedom Foundation’s highest award.
This guy teaches at my community college and seems to be responsible for an awful lot of brainwashing of his students in the past year or so. I mean, this guy persuaded one of his students attending a tea party rally. (The same student used to work with me in the school library and thought it would be *so* funny to put an anti-Obama sticker on my bag during our shift. Har har har, real funny. Cool story, bro.)
I have to take a polisci class to get my degree and I am looking high and low for any other teachers of the subject on campus. I am not going to sit in this man's class and listen to him spout his conspiracy theories, watch reel footage of the Kennedy assissination, and generally get shit upon from a great height (and get an F) just because I will disagree with 100% of what he says because it is NOT what should be broadcast in a political science class setting.
