Wow, I'm here so early! I <3 that Hillary .gif like it's my job.

I didn't get a chance to brag last Shenanigans Friday because I got back too late, but I'm going to BU in the fall! I'm going for a Master's in Public Health.

congrats bb! that is amazing! what kind of work would you like to do with that? (i'm in nursing school, with a goal to eventually become a certified nurse midwife, so i looove hearing from other people in the health field and what they want to do, since there are soooo many different areas and specialties and whatnot to choose from and it's interesting to hear what interests others. :))

Eh, nothing much happened this week other than helping grandma with gardening, which proceed me and the sis freaking out over the massive amount of the bugs climbing all over our skin even though the mosquito repeller bracelets we had worked. Ugh.

Also, need to go ham on the State Tax people, I had a penalty to pay on my 2010 taxes but I paid for it. Yet they act like I have paid for it and took it out of my 2009 return. I hate them. Now I have to wait for Monday or something.

Also, have an interview for a caseworker job on Wednesday. /cross fingers

I bought myself a refurbished Samsung Galaxy Nexus this week, unf, unf, UNF I cant even friggin' deal rn. You gotta understand that my previous phone was an iPhone 3G. 3G. This is basically the mother of all upgrades for me. Cant stop playing/tinkering with it!

And perfect timing was perfect; THANK YOU, INCOME TAX REFUND

Fiance cannot understand why the hell I want an Android phone. If I have to get a non Blackberry phone I'm going with that.

This morning I found out that one of the guys I knew from college died on Monday. He's the first person my age that I personally knew fairly well to die and it's kind of hard for me to process that someone I actually knew died at 27.

OMGGGGGGGGGGGG I found this super awesome job posting earlier this week for a forensic scientist (toxicology) position at the Texas Department of Public Safety. I want it so baddddddd. One of the reasons why I decided to do chemistry in school was so I could get a job in forensics, so this would be so awesome.

Unfortunately, I have scant real experience with the techniques they're looking for, so I might be way down on the list if people with actual experience apply. I've used all the instruments, but only in an academic lab setting. Applications close next Friday but I've already been fretting about whether or not I'll get an interview. There's only one position open too. :(

I hate having to put myself out there. I really really want the job too. Ugh.

Best of luck! :D

I went over to my new building today to get measurements and shit, also to check out the size of the storage locker. (said locker is the size of a small bathroom) Open up the storage locker and found half a set of handcuffs hanging off the rod. A neighbor walked by, saw us and said "Oh so you have the bondage couple's old locker!"

Found out there was a couple that lived in the building who used to have their bondage sexy times in their storage locker room but realized they forgot or lost the keys to the cuffs. So the non cuffed person had to find the Super to free the partner. The look on my fiance's face was EPIC. Also explains why our landlord said "For storage ONLY, right?"

/I had to share this with everybody

I'm always immensely impressed by the amounts of art you have going on! All through school the thing I wanted to do the most was draw, but I was so busy with school-related work. Now that I finally have time, I'm running into some artists block. Perusing the internet is really inspiring- including your work, so thanks!

Which reminds me, I think I offered to draw for a card set you were putting out, but I'm almost certain I missed the deadline.... :( Sorry about that, I got lost in the maze of university, but if you do another set during the summer, please let me know, I still want to draw!!

I had Monday off and also took Tuesday off, so this week has flown by. I finally decided to shut the dog and cats out of the bedroom at night and things have improved in the "not being bitten or talked to" front. However, my son's new nemesis, Tooth III, is emerging, so he is restless and rummages. This bothers my wife more than me, though he does a good job of randomly smacking me in the back or backhanding me in the face.

I got a good deal on skirt steak yesterday-- a one day only sale-- and for the next three days, our grocer Basha's has pineapples for $.99 each, with a limit of 2. So this weekend I plan on firing up the grill and hollowing out at least one of those pineapples and filling it with blended ice, fruit juice, and rum/whiskey.

(I also found out that when the fruit is cheap I can freeze it before it spoils, and therefore have a lot of pineapple/mango/strawberry whatever for a protein shake in the morning. It gives breakfast the texture of a cold milkshake, which is a good way to begin each inferno of an Arizona day.)

Has anyone here ever tried out for a game show? I have an audition on Tuesday. Any advice?

I think I'm going to end up being outsourced to a store an hour and a half away from mine for a couple days a week because half their managers spontaneously went on disability and having a 3-hour commute is totally going to bum me out. I love driving but NOT THAT MUCH THAT OFTEN.

i accidentally some words

Ordered these babies today:

Now I can add "derby spectator" to my list of looks for the summer, right alongside "stereotypically bohemian artiste" and "effete Englishman vising the colonies".

I love these shoes.

I had something unusual with my feet when I was a kid and spent most of my child years in Oxfords and hated them, but just realized in the past year that I love these kinds of shoes./ csb

I started a gauntlet yesterday, but I've got four more hours to go on it. It's kind of scabby and gross right now.

I'm sure nobody will ever recognize the piece of art except MAYBE huge art history nerds, and I think I'm okay with this.

I've been trying to teach my two year old to use the potty chair (and hopefully eventually the real toilet); which has resulted in double the amount of laundry and my entire house reeking of pee.

In other news, I've been reading so much which is lovely. Still making my way through A Clash of Kings, but I'm getting there.
What is everyone reading this week??
